Herman Miller opens a new showroom in Paris
Herman Miller opens its new show room in the prestigious rue Saint-Augustin in Paris. 300 squared meters where all the seven brands of the group are exposed. The company is present in Paris since 1976 but the new locations wishes to be a place where architects, designers, creatives people, distributors and partners can meet and find new inspirations. The culture of beauty has always matched with useful in the philosophy of the group, together with the sharing way of live and work. Refinement meets the savoir-faire of handicraft, inspirations and creations develop with design and functionality.
Comfort and well being have been the core of the Herman Miller’s way of working for decades and it is confirmed also in the new show room exhibition furnitures. It means that the human being, and his wellbeing, is the fil rouge of innovation and spaces organization. Last, but not least, Herman Miller has redesigned the life cycle of his products in order to imagine them recyclable to infinity and to tend to zero waste. Since 2004, the company has imposed an approach eco-design for all new products (example: the Mirra 2 seat consists of 46% recycled materials and it is 93% recyclable). All the wood used – for furniture manufacturing – come from managed forests sustainably and meet the FSC or PEFC certifications. The majority of plastics are polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) 100% recyclable. The leathers are from the food industry and the paintings are based of aqueous inks.
